About

My name is Solby Lim, and I am an internal and external communications specialist and storyteller based in New York. Currently, I oversee the implementation of internal and external communication strategy, including executing media campaigns and managing digital and social media platforms for Women Cross DMZ, an advocacy organization pursuing international peace policy. I specialize in furthering organizational communications, media, and research work through the power and art of storytelling.

I recently managed internal and external communications for Columbia University’s Oral History Master of Arts program (OHMA) for two years. I also obtained my Master’s degree from OHMA, where I created Tidal Notes, an ongoing research/storytelling archive dedicated to empowering and preserving collective voices for change. In the past, I conducted corporate product research and media content at GLAAD as well as created editorial content for publishing products at W. W. Norton & Co. I developed narrative-focused content as communications intern and editor for Barnard College’s website and print magazine for three years, in addition to graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.

My passions and experiences are rooted in writing + editing, communications management + creative content, digital research, cultural history, and everything in between!
